General Care Tips
- Store jewelry separately in a soft pouch or airtight container to prevent scratches and tarnishing.
- Remove jewelry before bathing, swimming, exercising, gardening, or cleaning and avoid contact with chemicals.
- Put jewelry on last when dressing and take it off first at night.
- Wipe jewelry with a soft, dry cloth after wearing to remove oils and moisture.
Tarnishing
Tarnishing is a natural process, especially on silver and gold-plated jewelry. It does not damage the piece and can easily be removed to restore its shine. With the Julie Sandlau Care Kit, you can safely and effortlessly clean and maintain your jewelry at home.
How to clean
14K and 18K Gold
- Mix a few drops of perfume-free soap in warm water.
- Soak jewelry briefly and clean gently with a soft toothbrush.
- Rinse well in clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
Gold & Rhodium-Plated Jewelry
- Use Julie Sandlau Gold & Silver Jewelry Clean (not for pearls).
- Soak briefly, brush gently around stones and settings, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth.
- Tarnishing is normal and does not damage your jewelry.
Pearls
- Pearls are delicate and should never be cleaned with soap or solutions.
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
- Store separately to avoid scratches.
Diamonds & Gemstones
- Clean gently with mild soap and a soft brush.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Regularly check settings to ensure stones are secure.
